Urinary Tract Infection
An infection in the urinary tract (kidneys, ureters, bladder, or urethra) caused by bacteria can lead to symptoms such as burning sensation while urinating, frequent urination, presence of pus or blood in the urine, and, if severe, fever, abdominal/lower back pain, nausea, vomiting, and even sepsis.
If the infection reaches the kidneys, it is called Pyelonephritis, which can be serious.
If UTI is severe or recurrent, a nephrologist should determine the underlying cause, as repeated infections can lead to kidney failure in the future.
